A CPython interpreter provided as a pixi-managed conda-forge environment. The python candy ships a pixi.toml that pins python >=3.13,<3.14 from conda-forge, and a pixi builder stage materializes the environment at ~/.pixi/envs/default, so the CPython interpreter lands at a fixed, PATH-contributed path. The image’s environment belongs to whichever candy ships the pixi.toml it is built from, so a consuming image may legitimately pin a different minor than this default — open-webui, for one, requires <3.13. The checks therefore assert what the layer actually guarantees: a working CPython at or above the supported floor of 3.11, verified by file existence, the version it reports, and real standard-library code including the sqlite3 C extension. An image that needs an exact minor asserts it in its own plan.
Acceptance plan
Section titled “Acceptance plan”This candy’s plan: — the runnable spec charly check executes against a live deployment. check: steps are idempotent probes; run: steps change state.
| Intent | Step |
|---|---|
check |
the pixi-managed CPython interpreter exists at the default environment bin path |
check |
the interpreter is a CPython at or above the supported floor (3.11) — the exact minor belongs to whichever candy owns the image’s pixi.toml, not to this layer |
check |
the interpreter executes a standard-library snippet (incl. the sqlite3 C extension) and satisfies the same floor |
